I just wanted to put a few words on 'paper' about my boys' individual struggles for independence. Each in their own way, they are moving to new stages and leaving mommy behind a little more!
Eli is the epitome of an independent 3-yr-old. The list of things he does by himself is growing longer and is usually only limited by his size! He gets dressed by himself, he gets undressed by himself, he gets in and out of the car by himself, he wants to make his own PB sandwiches, he can play Wii, he can start his own movies on his DVD player, he'll fetch his own mimis, he'll even help mommy do his laundry!
Things I don't want to forget about this time in his life include wearing his underwear backwards so he can see the picture of Batman on his frontside....his demands for "privacy" in the bathroom about 75% of the time.... he repeats everything his mommy says with perfect timing.... and that kid can bargain like the best car salesman you've ever met!
Henry is moving from the sedentary baby stage with all of it's delicious thigh and wrist rolls to the moving baby stage. He is desperately trying to figure out how to crawl and will pull up to his knees on anything available. He continues to be a smiley, contented baby- a true testament to his mommy's argument for more kids! We recently rescinded his paci use, much to his dismay! In true Henry-style, he doesn't really cry in a heartbreaking way. It's more of an angry, growling babble. His grandma thinks he might be using some choice words that his mommy just can't understand!
Things I don't want to forget about this time of my little HK's life include his super juicy and still gummy smile (no teeth yet!).... his happy babbling that usually consists of a lot of Dadadada.... his occasional angry outbursts where he kicks his chubby little feet in anger.... and his utterly kissable cheeks!
Finally, I have to say that I have had to stop no less than 5 times in the writing of this short post to tend to one small child (changing, feeding, passing the remote/cellphone for entertainment) and that's with just one awake so far this morning.... it really reinforces why I haven't blogged in so long! Yeesh!
